I love the translucent quality you gave to each of them. And I can't help but smile more than I should at the little support frame work propping them up. You rock!

Holy Moly the level of detail on the fur and back ground.

Just wow. The colors and the ambiance. Just beyond words to say what I love about this accurately. It's awesome!

The hair texturing on this is amazing. Well done with the graphite work! He looks like he just lost a bet with Legolas.

Thank you! It took what seemed forever, i know it's far from perfect but all part of the learning i guess :).

The feel of the illustration has me feeling they are stepping from the light of principles and warrior code and about to walk into the darker tests of blood and death to see what holds firm. Well done!

Details. Just, wow, you packed in the details especially on helicopter dash board. It's great! Nothing gets lost or muddled, lots of areas pulling the eyes and you have a good size relation with the small features bellow the crazy guy.

Only thing I'd suggest is when you get to figuring out the sky, maybe go easy with detail on it and leave a gentle spot for the eyes to float up to once in a while. Doing great!

Thank you for your comment ! :D

Excellent display of light levels and depths. Feel like I can smell the fire and singeing hair. Good use of a foreground blocking. Really sells the chasm or pit feel for the fire.

Great piece. The ambiance, lighting and even the hints of red throughout the background give me feeling of either Aliens or the Borg from Star Trek TNG. Definitely a good job portraying a sense of wrongness to back away from in how the creatures don't look familiar anymore to their original forms. Good use of specular lighting. I have yet to get lighting right with my pieces.

Thank you CafeCorgi! I cannot state in text how much I appreciate to get comments with a bit of analysis thrown in there, it is always interesting to hear what other people think of my art.
Good luck with your lighting studies, always remember to learn the 3d-shape of the thing you are drawing as well as the direction of the light to make lighting things much easier.

I like this piece. The overall proportions are right and it gives a good scope of size and presence to show that astronaut is dealing with real structures that are meant to contain someone with a bulky suit.

The only thing I can think of to offer advice wise is on the black background. Colored pencils are a finicky medium. The background shows some bleed through of the paper but there some preparation work that can fix issues like this in the future. An artist that visited me one day noticed I had the same problems especially when I did large 18 x 24 poster pieces. His advice was not to scrub in more pigment like my mind was thinking. That would cause gouging and too much pigment layering that would just rub off. He advised me instead to use a dark colored marker close to the color of the background I wanted and color it in with marker first, then let it dry, then work on the rest of the picture then go and fill in the background with my black pencil. It yielded a smooth, rich, solid color effect that fixed the bleed through issues I had. Hope it helps.

jungmeister responds:

yes with putting marker first and go with colored pencil makes super sense. Yes that would help greatly and make the rendering time less and ease on my hand stress. I think i did some llike that in my lifetime i cannot remember when. I did not have black marker at the time . If i did have that blk marker. It is pretty much dried up. I have seen lots of artists use like copic markers to render the drawing and go with colored pencils on top of it and it looks great. Especially saw this alot in sketch card art.
Paper i used to do this piece was on 9x12 tone grey paper and thank you for your crit
